Real Estate Investment firm in Irvine is seeking a Sr. Accountant
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain the Corporate, Bridge Fund and Holdings general ledger, prepare sales tax returns for X5 Naturals, assist with tax preparation as needed and perform other accounting duties as assigned
· Prepare and review Corporate, Bridge Fund and Holdings journal entries in accordance with GAAP with proper supporting documentation
· Prepare and review monthly/quarterly corporate bridge fund and Holdings financials and balance sheet reconciliations.
· Review Corporate, Bridge Fund and Holdings general ledger for accuracy and consistency
· Responsible for reconciliation of intercompany activity.
· Assist with the monthly/quarterly consolidation and preparation of consolidated financial statements.
· Analyze financial reports and records for accuracy and inform Controller of discrepancies if necessary.
· Review Corporate, Bridge Fund and Holdings journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy
· Train and mentor junior staff
· Interface with various departments to assist in resolving reconciling items and general accounting issues.
· Responsible for the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.
· Assist the Controller with annual audit ,as necessary.
· Research budget vs. actual fluctuations to ensure explanation are accurate, complete, and reasonable.
· Ensure all necessary month-end and year-end supporting documentation is attached to JE's to support the completeness and accuracy of month end close.
· Assist with ad hoc reporting and other special projects, as needed.
Reporting:
· Assist with month-end and quarter-end management reporting.
· Assist with end of year tax preparations.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
· 3+years of accounting experience
· Experience using QuickBooks, Sage Intacct and MS Office-Suite
· Knowledge of GAAP
· Ability to pay attention to detail and
· Ability to accurately review staff work.
· Ability to train and manage staff
· Ability to work without being supervised
· Strong financial analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong Planning skills.
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Team player and flexible
